After the award ceremony we ran to Drunen, where we had a small sub-event in which we participated,

Namely kite flying with school-aged youth on the Drunen football field

This year was the 13th edition of this beautiful festival and for me the 6th time that I participated. Like last year, I was there earlier to help with the construction and installation of the WiFi on the terrace.

Vliegeren is voor iedereen

Tuesday August 15, The outward journey

I started the day by refueling the car. The distance of the outward journey was more than what was still in kilometers on my on-board computer.

After the two-hour drive, it was time to set up my tent. After about 45 minutes it was completely upright and ready for use.

After the tent I have to display my new beach flags. Here you can see them standing between the flags of Kiting is for everyone.

Wednesday August 16.

We started Wednesday with breakfast at home. The neighbors provided rolls with scrambled eggs.

Then we installed the electricity around the field

In the afternoon it was time for my specialty, namely installing the wireless internet.

Router, antennas, several meters of cabling and a starlink dish. Not much else is needed to build the network

In the afternoon everything was straightened out and the network was as good as operational.

Thursday August 17

On Thursday it was time to move and test the Starlink antenna. That set up most of the event.

Friday August 18

On Friday it was finally time to take out the kites.

The wind was not ideal, so we had to blow up the figures.

The friends of Vliegeren is voor iedereen thought the same about it.

Saturday August 19

On Saturday my kites had to look their best,

The house photographer came by to take pictures

I tried to fly kites throughout the day, but the wind was too light for my kites.

Saturday August 19 – evening program

On Saturday evening it is traditionally lights evening, this year it was slightly different,

The evening started with a Balloon Spectacle

After the balloon spectacle, the lights festival could begin

Of course, my cows couldn’t be missed either

Sunday August 20

After my daily round of “I am checking whether the WiFi is still working properly” I saw to my great surprise that my cows have been nominated for the audience award

That meant recruiting votes all day long

After 4pm it was the awards ceremony.

To my even greater surprise, my cows came 2nd and I now have a cup that I still have to find a place for.

Sunday August 20, Jeugd vakantie vreugd – Drunen

After the award ceremony we ran to Drunen, where we had a small sub-event in which we participated,

Namely kite flying with school-aged youth on the Drunen football field
