38th RICV Berck-Sur-Mer [FR] – 2025
For the third time I came to participate in the largest festival in Western Europe.
This time we were there for the last 5 days of an extended Easter weekend full of kite fun.

Thursday 17 april
The weekend started early, the kite friends left from the Netherlands, I myself from Flanders.
We had agreed to meet in Veurne to continue the journey towards Berck.
About 2 hours drive later, we arrived in Berck. After parking quickly we could pick up the parking ticket on the boulevard.
With my 2 parking tickets in hand, the weekend could really begin.
But only after unloading the car and setting up our apartment.
Once we had unpacked everything and after lunch it was time to do some kiting ourselves.
At the end of the wonderful kite day, we could enjoy a beautiful sunset on the French coast of Berck.
Friday 18 april

after that it was time to fly a kite again and just like yesterday the weather was perfect
Saturday 19 april
On day 3 the wind was perfect for some KAP’ing, so I did.
First of all my double conyne delta went up in the air. Still my favorite KAP kite by far
And that went perfectly from my chair

While taking pictures, I also went live on Facebook from the kite,
After KAP’ing I spotted some other kites
At the end of the kite day another family showed up with this 30m octopus,
never flown with it before and totally tangled they tried to fly with this octopus.
After 10 minutes of messing around we couldn’t stand it anymore and we went to help them and half an hour later the kite was able to fly.
Then it was time to get ready for the fireworks show
The camera was ready and once it was dark, the show could begin.
the beautiful colors, the loud bangs. It was spectacular again.

After the fireworks, we could go to sleep with a satisfied feeling.
Sunday 20 april
Sunday started off grey and dull, which ended in rain,
Because of this we didn’t fly much kites today, but I did upload the photos to the computer
I also took advantage of it to take some photos on the boulevard.
The last day of our stay in Berck,
After another walk to the seals and the boulevard it was time to go back home.
Monday 21 april
Conclusion
This year it was again a very nice edition of the RICV, as well as a nice get-together with kite friends
I am already looking forward to the next edition next year.
